Some patients feel worse before they feel better. Some patients move forward without any detox symptoms. Detox symptoms can be your physical issues feeling worse, old emotional patterns returning or getting louder, or relationships becoming more unstable. People who suffer from fear and control issues tend to have worse detox symptoms. If you experience detox, get lots of rest, eat healthy food, and be gentle with yourself. Drinking plenty of water, having quiet time, and minimizing stress also helps. I understand that I may experience physical or emotional detox as a result of my treatment.
By booking an appointment, I confirm that I have thoroughly reviewed and agree to the Disclaimer, Legal Liability Waiver and Cancellation Policy. I hereby forever release, waive and discharge any claims against Healing Bird Acupuncture and Dr. Heather Bird.
Answers To Common Questions
Do acupuncture needles hurt?
Patients may feel a light tingling sensation, a warming sensation or nothing at all. Most patients report feeling calm and relaxed after their treatment.
Healing Bird Acupuncture uses FDA approved, single use, disposable acupuncture needles, which are very thin, almost hair like, in diameter. At initial insertion of the needles, you may feel a slight prick at first that instantly dissipates. Many people cannot feel the needle insertion. Using very gentle techniques, you may feel a pleasing tingle or vibration at the needle site. You will feel relaxed during the treatment; you might even take a nap. Some people report feeling the energy of their bodies moving through them. Afterwards, many people feel balanced and relaxed, while some people feel energized.
How many treatments? How often?
Each patient is unique and responds in their own way. The more severe the disorder, the more treatments may be needed. Some patients only need one or two treatments. The typical recommendation is two to four treatments per week for eight to sixteen treatments. Most patients will see results after the first or second treatment. Some patients do not see any results for eight or ten treatments.
How long do the treatments take?
Individual treatments, the first visit will be 90-minutes. Your follow up treatment will last 60-minutes.
Do you accept insurance?
Healing Bird Acupuncture does not currently accept insurance as a form of payment. We recommend you contact your insurance to see if they will reimburse you, most standard policies cover acupuncture.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, credit card, checks and Health Savings Account (HSA) debit cards.
